Xiaomi9 Moonsset to launch its self-developed chip, operating system, and vehicle within the next two years, as revealed by a tech blogger on Thursday. The source asserts that Xiaomi’s smartphones and cars are both expected to incorporate its self-developed chip and operating system. In 2021, Xiaomi made significant investments in a series of automotive battery and autonomous driving companies, including Black Sesame Technologies. Black Sesame, a Chinese developer of self-driving computing chips, achieved a valuation of nearly $2 billion in 2021 after securing funds from Xiaomi. In August, the Xiaomi MS11 electric car was spotted undergoing road tests in Xinjiang, China. Furthermore, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated in March that the company’s electric vehicle unit is scheduled to commence mass production in the first half of 2024. [IThome, in Chinese]
